NASWA recognizes McCain Foods as National Business of the Year
Washington - Recently the National Association of State Workforce Agencies (NASWA) presented McCain Foods with the prestigious National Business of the Year award at their 81st Annual National Conference in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. The NASWA National Business of the Year award is conferred upon businesses that consistently strive to positively impact their workforce, industry and community. Recipients of this award are also recognized for their support of the workforce development system.
"McCain Foods’ positive impact on their industry and community cannot be overstated,” said Scott B. Sanders, Executive Director of NASWA. “Their efforts to build and maintain a skilled workforce while meeting economic demands have provided exceptional returns for the manufacturing industry, the state of Idaho, as well as their partners around the globe.”
“McCain is thrilled to win this award, specifically because of what it stands for,” said Dale McCarthy, McCain Foods Vice President of Integrated Supply Chain. “Our core values are built on the principle ‘Be Good. Do Good’ – which we demonstrate by investing in the employees and communities we represent, while contributing positive growth to the industry. Jeff McCray and the Burley manufacturing team live these values every day, starting with a strong commitment to workforce development in their community. Our employees are the backbone of this company and we thank them for their dedication to producing quality products we can all be proud of.”
NASWA also recognized several other individuals and groups who have provided vital community workforce and economic development opportunities as a part of their Salute to Leadership awards ceremony at their 81st Annual National Conference.
More information about award recipients and categories can be found on the 2017 Salute to the Leadership Awards site.
The National Association of State Workforce Agencies (NASWA) represents the 50 state and three territory workforce agencies, which oversee the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act programs, employment services, unemployment insurance, employment statistics and labor market and workforce information programming.
