UI IB Subcommittee Overview
The NASWA Interstate Benefits Subcommittee is the overseeing body for State UI agreements, interstate benefits processes/procedures, states’ voice for the federal UI programs, and states’ voice for the for the combined wage claim program. The mission of the Interstate Benefits Subcommittee is to provide methods for the exchange of information among states and Canada to support unemployment compensation benefit determinations and workforce security objectives.
The Subcommittee regularly communicates with all states to ensure efficient operation of interstate and federal unemployment insurance programs. The Subcommittee works closely with the U.S. Department of Labor and NASWA’s UI Interstate Connection Network (UI ICON) team to develop policy and technology recommendations.
