Military to Manufacturing – An Essential Workforce Pipeline

The manufacturing industry has over 604,000 open jobs and is predicted to have 2.1 million unfulfilled jobs by 2030. Veterans are uniquely positioned to step into manufacturing careers, often having technical training, leadership skills, and mission focus. This session will feature an overview of the current state of the manufacturing industry and the Manufacturing Institute’s Heroes MAKE America initiative. Followed by a panel discussion highlighting how organizations like Johnson & Johnson, local workforce agencies, the MI, and others can work together to provide innovative solutions and recruitment pathways to assist veterans into rewarding careers in the industry.
