California’s Workforce Supply & Demand Dashboard Garners National Award
WASHINGTON – The California Employment Development Department was named the recipient of the prestigious Data Insights and Innovations Award for its Workforce Supply & Demand Dashboard given by the National Association of State Workforce Agencies (NASWA) at its 2025 Winter Policy Forum in Washington, DC. Presented by the Workforce and Labor Market Information Committee, this award is bestowed on a state showing excellence and innovation in labor market information.
The California Workforce Supply & Demand Dashboard is a web-based tool designed to provide students, job seekers, businesses, educational institutions and workforce partners with easy-to-access workforce and labor market data.
Interactive visualizations break down various aspects of California’s workforce and labor market data. Detailed data analytics enable policymakers, economic researchers, and job seekers to bridge the gap between education and employment. Students can also use the dashboard to learn about job openings and wages in their chosen career path.
“California’s Workforce Supply & Demand Dashboard demonstrates a commitment to innovation in delivering high-impact labor market information,” NASWA President and CEO Scott B. Sanders said. “They developed a user-friendly and intuitive tool, implementing continuous feedback from customers and internal partners.”
“We’re so proud of the work our Labor Market Information team is doing to help guide workforce development partners in better preparing today’s job seekers for in-demand opportunities,” said EDD Director Nancy Farias. “Our convenient data tool supports career readiness efforts – benefiting both workers and business throughout the state.”
