NASWA’s 2025 Association Year National Policy Committee Chairs Announced



WASHINGTON - The National Association of State Workforce Agencies (NASWA) announced the appointment of its national Policy Committee Chairpersons. These individuals, selected from across the United States, are as follows:

Administration & Finance Committee
Chris Nelson, Chief Financial Officer, Texas Workforce Commission

Communications Committee
Diane Watkins, Director, Office of Public Affairs, DC Department of Employment Services

Employment & Training Committee
Michelle McNertney, Division Administrator, Workforce Services, Iowa Workforce Development

Equal Opportunity Committee
Elizabeth Gagen, Director, Wyoming Department of Workforce Services

Technology Committee
Chris Henderson, Chief Information Officer, Indiana Department of Workforce Development

Unemployment Insurance Committee
Wendy Castle, Assistant Deputy Secretary, FloridaCommerce

Veterans Affairs Committee
Sarah Morrissey, Employment Services Bureau Director, New Hampshire Employment Security

Wage & Hour Committee
Ellen Saline, Labor Standards Senior Policy Manager, Washington State Department of Labor & Industries

Workforce & Labor Market Information Committee
Bryan Grady, Assistant Executive Director for Labor Market Information, South Carolina Department of Employment and Workforce

“These individuals were all selected for leadership roles due to their expertise, talent and knowledge in their field,” NASWA President and CEO Scott B. Sanders said. “We are fortunate to have such experienced professionals leading our national policy committees and I’m looking forward to the year ahead.”

NASWA Policy Committee Chairpersons assumed their corresponding positions upon acceptance of appointment following the September 26, 2024, NASWA Membership Meeting in New Orleans, LA. All Chairperson positions serve a one-year term.
