Introducing Early Insights from the ACCESS Initiative

APHSA and NASWA are very excited to share a new report: Paving the Road to ACCESS: Early Insights from the Aligned Customer-Centered Ecosystem of Supports & Services (ACCESS) Initiative.

This report highlights promising practices in early adoption of data and system integration strategies that streamline access to benefits and supportive services across health, human services, and labor agencies. Insights were uncovered through various channels, including surveys and roundtable discussions with agency professionals. Overarching themes include program design, administration and service delivery models; funding models and resourcing streams; and technical infrastructure.

This publication will act as a foundation for future ACCESS activities, which include collaboration with people with lived experience accessing health, human services, and labor programs and services. This will inform the design of customer mapping activities to understand how customers navigate benefits and services and guide recommendations for advancing customer-centered systems alignment.

We hope that this publication, as well as future ACCESS activities, will support agencies in discovering, understanding, and exploring strategies for interagency alignment.
