Multi-State Data Collaborative (MSDC) Leaders Shine at the Data Foundation’s Research Symposium
After submitting a successful proposal, state agency leaders from Kentucky, Illinois, New Jersey and Wisconsin, along with MSDC staff were selected to present at the Data Foundation’s virtual research symposium on June 6. The symposium focused on strategies to develop sustainable ecosystems for using data as “an actionable resource for the public sector.” You can access the recording here.
Key presenters were Matt Berry (Kentucky Center for Statistics--KYSTATS), Ewa Gallagher (Illinois Department of Employment Security), Bryan Huebsch and Ellie Hartman (Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development) and Stephanie Walsh (Heldrich Center at Rutgers University).
Through real-world examples, the five state data leaders demonstrated what states can accomplish through their own ingenuity and with the support of their peers, the MSDC, the Coleridge Initiative and funders. They shared highlights of their innovative administrative data projects, which are designed to create more local, timely and actionable insights on critical issues facing state and local governments —such as supporting reemployment, post-secondary completion, more equitable program access and experience and the teacher workforce.
Thank you to the Data Foundation and partners at George Washington University’s Trachtenberg School of Public Policy for hosting a wonderful event with many great panels.
