Cyber Jobs Workshop: White House Office of the National Cyber Director

NASWA Senior Policy Director Lori Adams was invited by the White House Office of the National Cyber Director to participate in a workshop on “Good Paying Cyber Jobs for Veterans and Military Spouses” July 31 in Washington, DC. The session included representatives from the Federal government, private sector, education and regional and community-based workforce and service organizations. Lori shared information about the wide variety of services available at American Job Centers, opportunities to better promote those services, and the National Labor Exchange’s new cyber jobs microsite. 11th Annual America's Warrior Partnership Symposium

Adams also moderated a panel discussion on the “Future of the Veteran Workforce” at the 11th Annual America’s Warrior Partnership Symposium on August 7 in Washington, DC. Panelists Margarita Devlin, USDOL VETS Deputy Assistant Secretary for Operations and Management; Hiring our Heroes President Eric Eversole; Jim Lorraine, President/CEO America’s Warrior Partnership; and Dr. Yashika Neaves, Chief, Strategic Plans & Initiatives, Office of the Secretary of Defense, discussed hot job sectors, information needed by Transitioning Service Members and employers, and their organization’s specific efforts to link current service members with future job opportunities.
