Overview
This position is located in the Department of Employment Services (DOES), Labor Standards Bureau’s Office of Hearings and Adjudication (OHA), Labor Standards Bureau, Department of Employment Services. OHA conducts formal administrative hearings to determine entitlement to the payment of compensation benefits to employees injured while at work. The employees are employed by the Government of the District of Columbia and by private employers. Written decisions are issued as hearings, which are presided over by Administrative Law Judges. The Incumbent will serve as an operations manager for the Administrative Hearings Division (AHD) and Compensation Review Board (CRB).
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develops partnerships with the private and non-profit sectors and coordinates with the District workforce development agencies and organization in delivering workforce development services that are seamless, universal, and customer-friendly.
- Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting workforce development functions.
- Monitors and directs the preparation of information requested or required for compliance.
- Approves all information submitted. Acts as primary contact with DOL and outside government agencies.
- Directs a process of organizational development and planning that evaluates structure, job design, and manpower forecasting throughout the District government.
- Coordinates activities across division lines and evaluates plans and changes to plans.
